Terms of Use

The terms governing access to the invr website and private opportunity network.

Effective date: 2026-08-30

These Terms govern your access to the invr website, application, invitation service, and related network services. invr is operated by SilverAspen ("invr", "we", "us"). By using the service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Notice.

1. What invr provides

invr is a decentralised, private opportunity network. It helps participants express capabilities or needs, identify potential matches, deliver invitations through peerwise DIDs, and make out-of-band introductions.

invr is not a searchable recruitment database. We do not promise that you will receive an invitation, that a match will be suitable, or that an introduction will result in employment, funding, mentoring, membership, investment, a venture, or any other outcome.

2. Your eligibility and authority

You must have legal capacity to accept these Terms. If you use invr for an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to act for that organisation and to express its capability needs or opportunities.

You may not use the service where doing so would violate law, sanctions, professional duties, confidentiality, security obligations, or a binding agreement.

3. Your identity and control

Your professional identity, capabilities, credentials, keys, relationships, and disclosure choices belong to you. You are responsible for maintaining control of the keys and devices associated with your DID.

invr will not require you to publish a conventional public profile. You decide whether to accept an invitation and what information to share after an out-of-band introduction.

4. Capability claims and credentials

Any capability claim or proof you disclose must be accurate, lawfully held, and not misleading. You must have the right to disclose it.

Submit only the minimum evidence needed to prove the relevant capability. Remove names, addresses, identification numbers, photographs, signatures, dates of birth, and other unrelated identifying information before disclosure. Do not provide confidential employer information, classified information, export-controlled information, trade secrets, private keys, access credentials, or information belonging to another person.

We may reject, suspend, or remove a capability proof if we reasonably believe it is fraudulent, unlawful, unsafe, materially misleading, or unnecessary for the service.

5. Invitations and matching

A match is an informational signal, not an endorsement, certification, offer, guarantee, or professional recommendation. Matching can be incomplete or incorrect.

You are responsible for assessing an invitation and conducting any diligence appropriate to a role, mission, grant, mentor, circle, connection, team, or venture. Organisations and opportunity providers are responsible for their own screening, compliance, contracting, and decisions.

6. Out-of-band introductions

When you choose to engage, invr may facilitate an out-of-band introduction. After that introduction, communications and information exchanges may occur outside systems controlled by invr.

You decide what to disclose. The receiving participant becomes responsible for information they receive directly from you under applicable law and any agreement between you. invr is not a party to arrangements made between participants unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing.

7. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • attempt to identify, enumerate, scrape, or build a directory of network participants;
  • correlate peerwise DIDs or capability proofs to re-identify people without authority;
  • send spam, bulk invitations, harassment, or deceptive opportunities;
  • submit false credentials, impersonate another person, or misrepresent authority;
  • introduce malware, probe security, interfere with routing, or evade access controls;
  • use invitations to discriminate unlawfully or facilitate illegal activity;
  • disclose information that you are not authorised to share; or
  • use the service to create a conventional searchable inventory of people.

8. Organisations and opportunity providers

If you express a need or opportunity, it must be genuine and described with enough accuracy for a participant to make an informed choice. You must not demand identity disclosure before it is reasonably necessary, and you must respect a participant's decision not to engage.

You are responsible for notices, consents, legal bases, recordkeeping, and other obligations that apply once a participant shares information directly with you.

9. Disconnecting

You may disconnect from the invitation service at any time. We will stop new matching against your peerwise DID and delete information under our control as described in the Privacy Notice.

Disconnecting ends your participation in the invitation service but does not unwind an agreement or disclosure you independently made with another participant.

10. Suspension and termination

We may limit or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect participants, investigate abuse, comply with law, or respond to a material breach of these Terms. Where appropriate, we will provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue.

11. Intellectual property

invr, SilverAspen, and their associated software, designs, trademarks, and content are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms give you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to use the service for its intended purpose. They do not transfer ownership of the service or another participant's information.

You retain rights in material you lawfully provide. You give us only the limited permission necessary to process that material to provide, secure, and improve the service in accordance with the Privacy Notice.

12. Service availability and disclaimers

The service may change, experience interruptions, or contain errors. To the maximum extent permitted by law, it is provided "as is" and "as available" without implied guarantees of availability, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or a particular opportunity outcome.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.

13. Responsibility and liability

Each participant is responsible for their own decisions, disclosures, diligence, communications, and agreements. To the maximum extent permitted by law, invr and SilverAspen are not responsible for independent acts, statements, opportunities, or conduct of network participants.

Our liability is not excluded or limited where doing so would be unlawful, including for fraud or other liability that applicable law does not permit us to exclude.

14. Changes

We may update the service or these Terms. The effective date appears above. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide reasonable notice before it takes effect where required. Continuing to use the service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing rules

invr is operated by a U.S.-based SilverAspen entity. Any governing-law and forum terms presented during onboarding or in a separate enterprise agreement will control for that relationship. Otherwise, applicable conflict-of-laws rules determine the governing law and forum. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer or privacy rights available where you live.
